An away-from-it-all cabin at LAKE ATITLAN, 

near the indigenous village of San Marcos La Laguna

The cabin is set in its own private natural garden on the lake shore with rich lawns, banana, coffee and other indigenous trees, andsurrounded by tropical forests. It has outstanding lake and mountain views that create a wonderful sense of tranquility. Accommodation includes a ground floor double bedroom and upper deck twin bedroom, kitchenette, dining room and large outside covered deck for relaxing.  It is approached via a short walk along the lake shore itself, fully secluded yet within minutes of the village, internet access, basic but wonderful rural restaurants, and local stores.

Atitlan is considered by many to be one of the most beautiful lakes in the world. An unforgettable place for holidays or longer retreats.

Follow these directions

The house is visible from the lake shore and is the only wooden cabin in that area. There is a FOR RENT sign with our  phone numbers, so it's not very difficult to identify. We call our place   “My Blue Dream” (“Mi Sueño Azul“)

If your are in the town, you have two options to find the house (5 minutes walk):

1. In the village center you will see a football pitch, a park and church.  Before you reach these, on the right there is a winding footpath that leads down to the lake, past several ethnic hotel and restaurants.  Once on the lakeside, turn left past the pier and about 300 meters you will see the cabin

1. 2. Go through the village center,  past the church and follow the road  through two or three bends and you will find a crossroad:   the main road  continues for the village of Tzununá   a second road climbs to hand  left toward the upper town  San Marcos     but take the third road on the right which leads down the hill right hand toward the old dock pier.  From the old pier at the edge, turn right about 170 meters. 

By boat from Panajachel (main city of the Lake Atitlán) If your are already in Panajachel, the main city at the lake, take a boat  to San Marcos. It will leave you at  the pier at the edge of the beach.  You  only have to walk toward the house (it is only 3 minutes away from the pier).  Time:  20 minutes 

By road  from Guatemala City Airport to San Marcos La Laguna: Take the Interamerciana CA-1 Take the Interamericana-CA-1 and leave it at the 148 kilometer mark, to San Pablo la Laguna and towards Santa Clara and Santa Lucia Utatlán. Pass these villages and follow the route to San Pablo La Laguna where this road ends.  In San Pablo La Laguna, pass through the village and follow the signs to the little village of San Marcos La Laguna. Time:  2.5 - 3 hours
